Hey Badasses, it’s Bree Norton! I am a Del Mar native where I found my passion for strength training at Mira Costa College taking kinesiology classes. Although I didn’t pursue a kinesiology degree, I continued to expand my knowledge in fitness and continuously living a healthy lifestyle.

In 2020 I got my ACE certificate to instruct group fitness at F45 Training, and in 2022 I made the transition as a group fitness trainer at Revel Fit Club. This year, I am fully committed to helping others achieve their fitness goals and maintaining accountability in the gym. English: I am an ACE certified personal trainer since May 2022 and RYT 200 certified yoga teacher since September 2023 with 6 years of dedicated training and education. I’ve worked with many clients over the past year of different ages, races, and genders to help them achieve goals such as overcoming physical limitations, developing stronger cores, being more functionally fit, and losing weight. Native to Southern California, I was born in Los Angeles, eventually making my way to San Diego to attend the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree. I’m Mikayla Thoits, a 20 year old personal trainer from Santa Barbara. I moved down to San Diego this past year in hopes to start my own personal training business. I started playing sports at age 4 and my passion for movement and health has only progressed since. I have always been very athletic and competitive in the best way. My love for sports starting at a young age made me realize how important exercise and nutrition is. It excited me to learn new things that could help me mentally and physically.

I always had the idea that I was going to college to play soccer and major in kinesiology and sports medicine until covid happened. Therefore my whole entire plan shifted. While training during the summer to be prepared for my college soccer season, I fell in love with personal training. My mom being a personal trainer herself really inspired me to follow in her footsteps, which led me to not take the traditional route that I was supposed to and start my new path. Having my mom and many other mentors in my life that are all involved in the fitness space made me even more driven and inspired to follow this dream of mine and turn it into something.

What I love to focus on in training sessions are strength and functional mobility training. When being new to the gym I feel functional mobility is key to focus on to get clients comfortable with the whole training process and their body movement. I also am very knowledgeable with strength training, being an athlete my whole life, and wanting to build more muscle so clients feel stronger and more confident in their own bodies.

I have been a personal trainer since September of 2022, I have trained friends and clients my mom could not fit in her schedule and have heard all good feedback. I may not have a lot of experience with clients yet, but that doesn’t mean I am not knowledgeable in what I do, and am always wanting to learn more to incorporate into my business.

Hi! My name is Taimi (pronounced “Tie-me”), and I’m so glad that you are here! You’re looking to further your fitness journey, and you landed on this page– my page– so thank you! I wholeheartedly believe you are here for a reason, and for that, I am beyond grateful.

I have been in the fitness scene for an ongoing 20 years now! Growing up in competitive sports and then transitioning to resistance training, fitness has been a part of my life basically since I was born! It has always been a passion of mine to serve others, so I started sharing my fitness knowledge online back in 2018 and knew from early on that I wanted to pursue a career in this field. Since then, I have continued my formal education by obtaining a B.S. in Kinesiology as a Fitness Specialist and NASM Personal Training certification.

Now let’s be honest, being a woman in the fitness scene is just different than it is for a man! No matter how many times we deny it(like I used to), there are simply more complexities for us when it comes to being a woman in fitness.

You can find any trainer who will tell you cut and dry what to do, but do they take the time to wholly understand YOU? Do they truly care to help you navigate the disordered behavior that is so common for women to deal with on their own? Do they genuinely understand the female fitness experience? Are they properly educated on the female body? These are important questions to be asking, and in my honest opinion, the only way to really know how it is for a woman is to BE a woman.

My training philosophy has a strong emphasis on empathy. Yes, I have the knowledge and scientific information on exercise and nutrition tailored for you, but more importantly, I ultimately want to understand YOU and where you are coming from in your journey. It is never just about the scale or the muscles. It is about the whole YOU. I want to help YOU. Exercise and nutrition is just the key to unlocking the best version of YOU.

I want nothing more than to help as many women as I can achieve their goals, and ultimately learn more about themselves. At the end of the day, that’s all we can really ask for!
