Personal Trainer – Hey everyone! My name is Austin! I’ve been training and helping transform minds and bodies with functional training and cardiovascular endurance since 2018! You name it from body building, semi private classes, my group fitness glute boot camps, flexibility and mobility, there is a type of private training modality for you on my team. I became a personal trainer after years of trial and error through my own training and countless hours of studying and research to make sure I could put the same amount of intention and energy into the lives of others. After many years in the industry, I have learned a lot about how to work with individuals on their own terms and meet you where you are at when it comes to weight loss and management. For example, I’ve learned with women how to restore their metabolism to optimal levels through nutrition coaching while being mindful of life stressors and hormonal changes throughout the month to minimize fat gain and maximize fat loss. With men, I’ve learned how to truly enhance muscular growth and strength through optimal training techniques and advanced training methods. While simultaneously guiding them with what and how much to eat to achieve the physique they are looking for. With so much misinformation in the fitness industry and the internet alone I pride myself on being a knowledgeable one stop shop to make sure we cut the confusion and fast track the results without overdoing one area, based on your goals you can expect a great balance in your training whether that means cardio, strength and conditioning, or both! My job is to TEACH you not just TELL you how together we can cultivate lifestyle changes through functional fitness that you can keep for the long haul!

Over the years, I've not only competed in numerous bodybuilding contests but also earned the prestigious title of Collegiate Mr. Illinois, Third place in the Collegiate Mr. America and Mr. Midwest of police and Fire. In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I've made a name for myself in the fitness industry, not only as a personal trainer but also as a renowned fitness model. During my tenure, I assumed the role of fitness instructor for the police department, training officers to excel in their quarterly fitness exams and the rigorous testing for new recruits. I was also an avid martial artist and obtained a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I was asked to audition for a fighting game in the early 1990’s called Mortal Kombat. I was eventually cast as the characters, Sub Zero, unmasked Sub Zero and Scorpion as well as all the ninja’s.What often goes unnoticed is my personal battle with an eating disorder, which developed due to the extreme dietary demands of my professional fitness lifestyle. I struggled with binge eating, a powerful adversary that continues to challenge me to this day. However, I've developed effective strategies to manage this condition. There were times when I would consume an entire box of a dozen "Dove bars" in a single sitting or find myself overindulging at all-you-can-eat buffet-style restaurants, with Las Vegas being a particularly challenging environment. I would leave these experiences feeling defeated and depressed. To counteract this, I would embark on intense, hours-long workouts in the hotel gym to offset my excessive food consumption. This cycle was not only emotionally draining but also potentially life-threatening.So, when I say, "I understand," I truly do. I moved down to San Diego this past year in hopes to start my own personal training business. I started playing sports at age 4 and my passion for movement and health has only progressed since. I have always been very athletic and competitive in the best way. My love for sports starting at a young age made me realize how important exercise and nutrition is. Having my mom and many other mentors in my life that are all involved in the fitness space made me even more driven and inspired to follow this dream of mine and turn it into something.What I love to focus on in training sessions are strength and functional mobility training. When being new to the gym I feel functional mobility is key to focus on to get clients comfortable with the whole training process and their body movement. I also am very knowledgeable with strength training, being an athlete my whole life, and wanting to build more muscle so clients feel stronger and more confident in their own bodies.I have been a personal trainer since September of 2022, I have trained friends and clients my mom could not fit in her schedule and have heard all good feedback.
