I have been training and competing in bodybuilding for 3 years and that led me to pursue more education at National Personal Training Institute.
My experience is working with general health and wellness to full on bodybuilding contest prep, but what’s most important to me is getting YOU to feel better, move better, and look better based on your own goals, and always progressing forward. Working from home meant we could vary snack and coffee breaks, change our desks or view, goof off, drink on the job, even spend the day in pajamas

She struggled from depression, insecurities and not having a profound sense of who she was, therefore filling the void with binge drinking, eating and partying it all away. The gym became her therapy and next thing you know she started seeing the results and transformed to be a whole different person. She grew a passion towards health, fitness and helping others, pursuing not only a career in personal training but also in the sport of bodybuilding. Her journey didn’t stop there however, as she continued to struggle with yoyo dieting trying to figure out what works, injuries, an eating disorder, body dysmorphia, self-hate and fell into an even bigger depression. Despite the odds, she was able to overcome the challenges later to be awarded the title of Overall Wellness Champion in her sport and one of Yahoo Finance’s Top 10 female coaches. Therefore, whatever you are going through during your fitness journey, Fate is the trainer who will truly understand for she has been there too. As a fellow human, she learned that you shouldn't give up your life and happiness just to be “fit.” Health and fitness shouldn’t be your life but should add to your life. And once balance has been found, through the alignment of our physical, mental, and internal well being, health becomes the bridge to bring you towards the best version of yourself so that you can thrive in your passions, purpose and life. She has been a fitness trainer, nutrition and health coach for over 4 years and has worked with clients of all ages and starting points with many different struggles and has seen it all.She focuses on implementing this balance towards the training and nutrition approach she takes with her clients. All while giving them the results that they need. She understands that life is a priority and therefore will meet you where you are at. She will create an individualized program that will fit your lifestyle while eating the foods you love and finding your own balance so you can not only fall involve with the process, but with the person you will become along the way.She specializes in helping women of all ages with whatever struggle, from those simply looking to start and find health, lose weight, all the way up to those who’d like to build muscle, look and feel strong, and fulfill their ultimate potential.Wherever you are in your journey and whatever it is you are trying to accomplish, if you are ready to change yourself and your life, book a consultation with Fate and she will help you overcome your struggles so that you can transform inside and out.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Prior to becoming a fitness specialist, I received my bachelors of science degree from Illinois State University in Exercise Science with a minor in nutrition. I currently hold Certifications in the NSCA (CSCS) the NASM as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and the Grey Institute with a Certification in Applied Functional Science. My journey began when I was a young athlete, striving to improve my skills in wrestling and football. Over the years, I've not only competed in numerous bodybuilding contests but also earned the prestigious title of Collegiate Mr. Illinois, Third place in the Collegiate Mr. America and Mr. Midwest of police and Fire. In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I've made a name for myself in the fitness industry, not only as a personal trainer but also as a renowned fitness model. My physique has graced the covers of leading magazines such as Muscle & Fitness, Physical, and Planet Muscle. To see some of these images, visit my portfolio page on my website in the about section. https://personaltrainersandiego.com/about/meet-john/portfolio/Beyond my fitness career, I served as a dedicated police officer for a decade in the Chicago area. During my tenure, I assumed the role of fitness instructor for the police department, training officers to excel in their quarterly fitness exams and the rigorous testing for new recruits. I was also an avid martial artist and obtained a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I was asked to audition for a fighting game in the early 1990’s called Mortal Kombat. I was eventually cast as the characters, Sub Zero, unmasked Sub Zero and Scorpion as well as all the ninja’s.What often goes unnoticed is my personal battle with an eating disorder, which developed due to the extreme dietary demands of my professional fitness lifestyle. I struggled with binge eating, a powerful adversary that continues to challenge me to this day. However, I've developed effective strategies to manage this condition. There were times when I would consume an entire box of a dozen "Dove bars" in a single sitting or find myself overindulging at all-you-can-eat buffet-style restaurants, with Las Vegas being a particularly challenging environment. I would leave these experiences feeling defeated and depressed. To counteract this, I would embark on intense, hours-long workouts in the hotel gym to offset my excessive food consumption. This cycle was not only emotionally draining but also potentially life-threatening.So, when I say, "I understand," I truly do. If you're seeking guidance on fitness, overcoming binge eating, or maintaining a balanced lifestyle, I'm here to help. Together, we can work towards achieving your health and fitness goals, so you can live a happier and healthier life.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Still in my final year at UCSD as a Biochem major I thought the job would be temporary until I graduated, but I soon realized I enjoyed working with and helping people more than the thought of working in a laboratory environment.I became certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and also, within the last few years, obtained my Special Populations Certification focusing on working with seniors, people with chronic illness, as well as stroke and brain injury. My present endeavor is completing my second level of Egoscue training after completing my first earlier this year focusing on postural assessments and therapy to help my clients live a pain free lifestyle. What has kept me in the fitness industry as long as I have been in it is the connections I have made with my clients and the intrinsic reward of knowing that I am a positive reinforcement to their health and well-being.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
