Emely Gonzalez – Personal Trainer & Health Coach

Personal Training & Health Coach –

Hello, I am Emely Gonzalez, a personal trainer and health coach based in North County San Diego. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Community Health Education from California State University, Long Beach, and I am a NASM certified personal trainer. I am bilingual in both English and Spanish and can provide training in Spanish as well.

My fitness journey started at a very young age when I started playing all types of sports; I played soccer, basketball, softball, cheer, etc.; however, I chose to pursue soccer at the Community College level. Although my college career was short lived due to injuries, it led me to find my passion for strength training. I believe that a strong mind is the key to a strong body; I started training to make my body strong and prevent injuries, and what I found was that in the process I developed a stronger mind. As a vegetarian and newly found pescetarian, finding foods that helped me reach my goals was not always easy, I have spent numerous hours finding clean and quality foods that fuel my body.

As a personal trainer, I specialize in functional strength training, mobility, endurance training, sports training, conditioning, and overall health improvement. I will help train your body to be strong, resilient, and help you reach your physique goals; as a Health Coach, I will train your mind to be strong, motivated, and healthy. When training with me, I will make sure you understand the importance of having a healthy quality of life. You will receive personalized workouts and health guidance; I will push you and motivate you daily. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, or just feel better overall, I can help you get there. With my guidance, you can achieve the results you want and transform your life in a way that you never thought possible. ¡Estoy lista para ayudarte a alcanzar tus objetivos de salud!

John TURK – Personal Trainer in Del Mar

Personal Trainer in Del Mar –

At the age of 62, with over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, I am a dedicated personal trainer who thrives on helping individuals lead healthier lives. Prior to becoming a fitness specialist, I received my bachelors of science degree from Illinois State University in Exercise Science with a minor in nutrition. I currently hold Certifications in the NSCA (CSCS) the NASM as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and the Grey Institute with a Certification in Applied Functional Science.

My journey began when I was a young athlete, striving to improve my skills in wrestling and football. Over the years, I’ve not only competed in numerous bodybuilding contests but also earned the prestigious title of Collegiate Mr. Illinois, Third place in the Collegiate Mr. America and Mr. Midwest of police and Fire. In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I’ve made a name for myself in the fitness industry, not only as a personal trainer but also as a renowned fitness model. My physique has graced the covers of leading magazines such as Muscle & Fitness, Physical, and Planet Muscle. To see some of these images, visit my portfolio page on my website in the about section.

Beyond my fitness career, I served as a dedicated police officer for a decade in the Chicago area. During my tenure, I assumed the role of fitness instructor for the police department, training officers to excel in their quarterly fitness exams and the rigorous testing for new recruits. I was also an avid martial artist and obtained a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. I was asked to audition for a fighting game in the early 1990’s called Mortal Kombat. I was eventually cast as the characters, Sub Zero, unmasked Sub Zero and Scorpion as well as all the ninja’s.

What often goes unnoticed is my personal battle with an eating disorder, which developed due to the extreme dietary demands of my professional fitness lifestyle. I struggled with binge eating, a powerful adversary that continues to challenge me to this day. However, I’ve developed effective strategies to manage this condition. There were times when I would consume an entire box of a dozen “Dove bars” in a single sitting or find myself overindulging at all-you-can-eat buffet-style restaurants, with Las Vegas being a particularly challenging environment. I would leave these experiences feeling defeated and depressed. To counteract this, I would embark on intense, hours-long workouts in the hotel gym to offset my excessive food consumption. This cycle was not only emotionally draining but also potentially life-threatening.

So, when I say, “I understand,” I truly do. If you’re seeking guidance on fitness, overcoming binge eating, or maintaining a balanced lifestyle, I’m here to help. Together, we can work towards achieving your health and fitness goals, so you can live a happier and healthier life.

Matias Kalmar – Personal Trainer in Del Mar

Growing up in Argentina, I never placed much emphasis on fitness and health. However, when I moved to the United States, I realized the impact that a healthy lifestyle could have on one’s quality of life. Motivated by my own transformation, I decided to become a personal trainer and help others achieve their fitness goals.

With 8 years of personal fitness experience and 4 years as a certified personal trainer, I have developed a deep understanding of how to effectively adapt fitness plans to suit individual lifestyles, habits, and busy schedules. My area of expertise lies in bodybuilding including contest preparation, weight loss and fat loss, muscle toning, body re-composition, and muscle gain, as well as adapting those said goals not just to private sessions, but to semi-private sessions, small group sessions, and bootcamps.

In addition to my work with individual clients, I have also gained experience as a sport performance coach, working with high school athletes to help them reach their full potential. My hands-on approach to training and commitment to helping my clients succeed sets me apart as a trainer.

My mission as a personal trainer is to help people improve their quality of life through health and fitness. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, gain muscle, or simply feel better about yourself, I am dedicated to providing the support, guidance, and motivation you need to reach your goals.
